HP Buys EDS for lots of cast

HP to buy EDS for about $13.2 billion in cash

This may not have much to do with politics, but EDS was my first job after I left the Air Force.

However, what I find intriguing is the HP is paying for EDS in cash. I bet that will take quite a while counting out all that money.  I can picture the scene:

7,236,732 . . . . 7,236,733 . . . . 7,236,734 . . . . . 7,236,735 . . . .(then some guy in the back starts saying some random numbers) . . . .7,236,7....  DAMN IT!!!  I lost count AGAIN!!!!  Now, I have to start all over!!!  Somebody get that jerk out of here!!!!

Democrats - Just Encouraging the Enemy

Example of typical, no-nothing liberals:

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/AmandaCarpenter/2008/05/01/push_for_anti-war_language_in_dem_platform

Ever since the 1960's, the radical liberals who basically run the Democratic Party have been against wars and any military action at all costs (except when directed by a Democratic President).  Because of this, they have very little knowledge of military strategy, thus they say things that make the jobs of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan much more difficult.

First of all, there is no way those Iranian-backed terrorists in Iraq can defeat our military on the battlefield.  So they've adopted the strategy of the North Vietnamese and jane fonda (a traitor who doesn't deserve her name capitalized), and that is to destroy our will as a country to fight.

So every time the see extensive news coverage of a Code Pink protest, or hear Barack Obama saying he will immediately and unconditionally pull our troops out of Iraq, they see their strategy is working.  This just encourages to plant one more road-side bomb, or ambush another convoy (even if they suffer more casualties), etc.  They know the biased media will play up their actions.

I recently saw a bumper sticker that said "Dissent is Patriotic" - well, that is half right, dissent is patriotic BEFORE THE TROOPS ARE IN THE FIELD!!!  After the vote is taken, and troops are deployed, the debate should end.  Unfortunately, liberals and democrats are driven more by their hatred of President Bush and their lust for power, than their concern for our troops in the field.

Jeremiah Wright lets the cat out of the bag - Obama is a politician

So Barack Obama is finally denouncing the pronouncements of his mentor, pastor Jeremiah Wright, and distancing himself from him.  But what did he say at the National Press Club or the NAACP or in the Bill Moyers puff-piece interview that he hasn't already said?

He (Wright) said Obama is distancing himself because he is a (pardon my language here) "politician"!!  EGAD!!!!  Barack Obama is supposed to be a new type of leader, not a politician, but somebody who will bring everybody today in a big, national group hug.

So, did Obama attend that United Trinity Chuch for 20 years to establish "street cred" but really didn't believe what was said, or is he throwing his mentor/pastor under the bus because he no longer serves his purposes?

The Al Franken Decade - Do as I say

Just some proof that Al Franken is a typical limosine liberal:

Aren't the Democrats always saying everybody should pay their fair share of taxes?

Rebate - Tax Cut - What is the difference?

Soon many Americans will start receiving our "Tax Rebate" checks, the President's and Congress's attempt to reverse the recession.

Hey, the government wants to give me $600 back, I say I'm all for it.  But it wouldn't have passed with support from congressional Democrats, so I must ask them some questions: What is the difference between this "rebate" and a tax cut?  If a one-time rebate will help the economy, won't long term tax cuts help it even more?  And if rebates help the economy, won't a tax hike, needed to finance all the new programs we'll get stuck with if Clinton or Obama get elected, hurt the economy?

Just some thoughts.

Carter and Mugabe - Perfect Together

I did a Google search on the phrase "Mugabe Jimmy Carter" and it came back with about 673,000 responses.  That idiot who so sanctimoniously spouts about human rights was instrumental in the installation of one of the worst dictators of our time.  Hey Jimmy, when you stop kissing the butts of your Hamas terrorists friends, can you tell us how Robert Mugabe turning a sturdy economy into a distaster helps to further human rights?  Oh, I bet it's all America's fault.

Just a few examples:

Jimmy Carter is an Idiot

Here in my first blog here on Townhall I have a confession to make:  The first time I voted in a national election (1980), I voted for Jimmy Carter.  What can I say but that I was young and stupid.

With that in mind, if I ran into him today, I'd be very tempted to grab him by the throat, and hold him up against a wall and scream in his face "WHAT THE &*(&^*^* ARE YOU THINKING YOU STUPID &^^*%^$ IDIOT!!!  YOU DON'T GO AND TALK TO ^&*^%%^ TERRORISTS!!!!  ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD" (Note to his security detail: I'd be tempted but I wouldn't do it).

Idiot Jimmy should have looked at the results of the 1980 election, and went off and hid in Plains, Georgia for the rest of his life, hoping to be as well known as Franklin Pierce or Millard Fillmore.  He was elected in 1976, mainly due to anger at the Republican Party for Watergate and at Gerald Ford for pardoning Richard Nixon (an act even his opponents say was best for the nation at the time).  If it weren't for that, he wouldn't be anymore than the answer to a question in Trivial Pursuit.  As President, unemployment and inflation was out of control, and we had to wait on long lines for gas.  His reaction?  Tell the American people we would have to accept a lower standard of living and he changed the part in his hair.  In foreign affairs, he did get the Camp David Accords, but he also was instrumental in bringing down the Shah of Iran, which brought in the Islamic radicals we have now.  With a record like that, he should have run away and hid.

But now through his Carter Center for Peace, he galavants around the world, makes nice to some of the most evil people in the world, and bad mouths his country.  Before the 2004 election, he said he doubted the election here would be fair.  What a comment for a former leader to say!!

With this in mind, that brings up two reasons we shouldn't vote for Obama.  They are
  1. Like Jimmy was in '76, he is a Johnny-come-lately.  Four years ago, nobody knew who he was.  If he gets elected, and screws up the nation, we'll vote him out in four years, then have to put up with him for years to come.
  2. Any democrat that gets elected will have to treat president peanut with respect, and dignity.  They would have to at least pretend to listen to that blithering idiot, and that will only encourage him.  A Republican can just shake his hand and tell him to sit at the kids table, where he belongs.
Unfortunately, those who are 40 now were only 12 when he got thrown out of office by the Reagan landslide (He lost in the electorial college 489-49 and conceded before the poles in California closed) and so they don't remember him very well.  Those under 28 can't remember him at all.  We need to teach this large block of Americans what a complete and total failure Carter was a president and leader.
He should have stuck to building houses for Habitat for Humanity.

That's all for now.
